The Aegis Legend 2 (L200) was released in 2021, as a successor to the popular Aegis Legend original. The vape mod was designed with DTL vaping in mind and is powered by two 18650 batteries. The L200 is fairly easy to use compared to a majority of vape mods that offer the same performance and power. The L200 vape mod comes with a Zeus Z tank, a couple of coils, and a few spares.

Design
When you first hold your L200 vape mod in hand, you’ll inevitably notice a difference from the original Aegis Legend; the L200 is lighter and smaller. The USB port is a little stealthier, with its new location being under a rubber flap around the top corner.
The vape mod is built with different polymers and stainless steel, which is a testament to its durability. However, by removing the rubber casing its predecessor had, the device is likely to dent if you drop it from a height. Regardless, the device feels good in the hand due to its smaller size.
The top of the device is solid and well-reinforced, with a width of 26mm. The metal plate at the center, where the atomiser will be mounted is edged with silicon. The silicon is then once more edged with metal, which nullified the chance of it wearing with time. A 25 or 26mm atomiser can be mounted without any unsatisfying overhangs. You get a lot of space to fit a high-volume tank too! However, while the choice is yours to make, fitting a tank that is greater than 23mm will make the device look awkward.
The bottom of the device has the battery bay door, with the two 18650 batteries right above it. Opening the door is simple; push the door down with considerable force and slide the latch into position.
Features
There is no shortage of functions in the L200, with a 1.03-inch display, a firing button, option buttons, and a long slider lock (more on that later).
The display is multicoloured and bright, enabling you to see anywhere but outdoors at midday. The user interface is fairly simple and to the point, giving you no trouble understanding what’s on the display. Within a few minutes of examination, you will be cycling through the different modes without trouble. The Output modes include Variable Wattage, Temperature Control for Nickel (TC – Ni), Titanium and Stainless Steel (TC – SS). Oh, there is a built-in puff counter too!
For those of you who found the ‘press the button three times’ lock feature rather clumsy, worry not! The L200 has a slider lock that slides sideways. Once the box is locked, the settings remain intact, and you can’t draw any vapour. What’s particularly fascinating about the new lock is how stylish it is in the way it blends with the rest of the box.
While we don’t exactly plan on converting this blog to a user manual, here is a quick overview of the L200 functions:
- Five clicks of the fire button to toggle the device on and off.
- Three clicks to bring up menu mode
- Press the fire button to register selection
- Hold the fire button to exit menu
- Pressing the fire button + up/down will adjust the display brightness
Verdict
The L200 is indeed worth the price! While the device doesn’t seem completely beginner-friendly, it is far easier to use than most other DTL vape mods. The L200 is durable, lightweight and will make a great traveling companion for vaping on the go. However, with all its excessive functions, battery life may prove to be an issue if you are an avid vaper taking puffs every few seconds.
