There are a lot of terminologies used in the vaping industry. It is not possible to mention all of them and we do not even care to address all the terms. Most vapers consider only the best vape product and how they can make it the best vape experience.
Vaping and sub-ohm are terms that are used interchangeably. Even many vape wholesalers in the UK have no clear point to differentiate between these two terms.
If you want to know the difference, then this guide is for you.
Vaping
If you believe that inhaling e-cigarettes is the same as smoking a traditional cigarette, you are wrong. There is no smoke involved in vapor devices, they are all vapor. Vaping devices contain nicotine but in limited quantities. It uses nicotine which is the main component in the e-liquid, a coil, a battery and a tank to fill the device with flavoured e-liquid. A 2015 survey shows that e-cigarettes are 95% less harmful than tobacco.
Sub-ohming
There are basically two methods of vaping. The former is nicknamed "mouth to lung" or MTL vaping because it mimics traditional smoking. In this method of vaping, you inhale the vapor inside the mouth and then inhale it into the lungs. The e-liquid used in classic vaping contains high amounts of PG and VG. The coils are approximately 1.6 ohms to 2.4-ohms of resistance designed to deliver vapor throat hits.
Another method is "sub-ohm" vaping which is a direct lung inhalation. It is also called the cloud-chasing method because it gives off more vapor than classy vaping and provides a smoother throat hit.
In this method of vaping, the vapers inhale the vapor directly into their lungs. The e-liquid used for sub-ohm vaping has a high Vg and Pg ratio and the coils are approximately 0.5 ohms to 1.6-ohm resistance. As you inhale higher amounts of nicotine, e-liquids with a lower nicotine percentage are created.
Difference Between Sub-Ohm and Classic Vaping
Classic vaping is a method to mimic the sensation of smoking a traditional cigarette. It gives you a powerful sore throat and has the potential to deliver high amounts of nicotine e-liquid that is suitable for avid smokers.
Sub-Om Vaping is designed for a smoother draw that relates more to the flavours of the Shisha range. This range is available in lower nicotine strengths such as 0mg, 3mg, or 6mg. The concentration ratio of Vg and Pg in sub-ohm vape devices is about 80:20 or it can be 70 pg:30 Vg. This is due to the different resistances running through the coil inside the different vape devices.
However, sub-ohm vaping is more popular due to its characteristics and cloudiness.
Now, it is up to you whether you want to go for classic vaping or sub-ohm vaping. Whichever method you choose, don't forget to buy vape devices in bulk rather than buying them unit by unit. It can save not only cost but also time.
